Blain Hjertaas is a third-generation farmer in Saskatchewan. He began in the early 70’s with a high-tech industrial approach to agriculture. After 20 years, he realized this could not work long term and began to integrate holistic management to heal the soil, improve production, and feed his community. Today, the farm has 600 ewes and 150 custom grazed cow/calf pairs.
